Portfolio Manager

Bruce Campbell

I am the Founder and Portfolio Manager of StoneCastle Investment Management Inc.  I grew up in the hard working and down to earth city of Grande Prairie.  I am proud to be the fourth-generation business owner in my family and wanted to pursue a career in the investment management industry since I was in high school.

Many of my biggest life lessons I learned came from playing sports and watching and listening to my dad as I was growing up.  Being goal focused, I attended the University of Alberta and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in finance. I wanted to build my investment management education further and earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and one of the most prestigious designations in the financial industry, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (it was also one of the hardest four year journeys that I ever took).

It is hard to believe that I have already been in the investment industry for 30 years, with daily changes and challenges it has meant there has never been a slow day.  Prior to founding StoneCastle in 2008 I was a Portfolio Manager at some of the largest investment dealers in Canada,

I love doing what I do, trying to find the next growth company for portfolios.  I’m in my element when I am talking about growth companies and have been fortunate to be a regular guest on BNN Bloomberg’s Market Call and am also quoted in the Globe and Mail on investing topics.  Sometimes I’m right, sometimes I’m wrong, but I’m always genuine on my beliefs.

Outside work, I have a passion to succeed and am driven to be the best in all aspects of my life from coaching youth sports to managing portfolios.  I’m Married with two teenage hockey players, so I’m often hanging around the rink, but when I am not, I enjoy golfing, skiing, hockey, kart racing, fitness training and traveling. I live in Kelowna as it provides abundant lifestyle opportunities for my family.
